There is so much to do in Marrakech! From heavenly gardens and shopping until you drop to historical wonders like the Bahia Palace, here is a list of things not to miss:
Jemaa el-Fnaa Square
The main (and most famous) square in Marrakech is a spectacle of colors, flavors, and culture that includes craft shops and magic shows (seriously). The fresh fruit juices at the square's market cost between 4 and 7 dirhams, the perfect snack while you enjoy this chaotic theater! On the edges of the square, there are restaurants and cafes with terraces offering a magnificent view of the area. They can be a bit more expensive than others, but it is worth having a drink.
The Marrakech Souk
The labyrinthine streets of the medina surround Jemaa el-Fnaa square on all sides but one. The bustling Marrakech souk is full of shops selling all kinds of exotic souvenirs: carpets of all colors, lanterns and lamps, unique ceramics, argan oil, leather bags and backpacks, spices, jewelry... it is impossible to leave the Marrakech souk without buying anything, so don't bother trying to resist. Simply embrace your inner shopaholic!
📝 Note: Haggling is essential, as most of the time, you will be offered triple the actual price or more for the item. This can be a bit intimidating, as sellers will stop you in the street and sometimes touch you to get your attention, but if you do not show interest, they do not insist.
